Before turning to writing full-time, Jennifer taught elementary school and preschool. Her debut middle grade novel Solving For M is the winner of the 2020 Mathical Book Prize, and a finalist on several state lists. Her second novel, Stuck, was published in 2021 with Crown Books for Young Readers. Both tell the stories of real kids facing tough challenges and finding their way through. Jennifer also develops curriculum materials for students and teachers.

Growing up, Paul liked to build things. For many years, he worked as a carpenter. Today he uses that know-how to construct stories. Paul got his start as a research assistant to best-selling author Thomas Moore. He then teamed up with musician Pete Seeger for Pete Seeger’s Storytelling Book and the picture books: Abiyoyo ReturnsSome Friends to Feed, and The Deaf Musicians, winner of the ALA Schneider Family Book Award.

Jennifer and Paul are a husband and wife writing team. They are the authors of many picture books, as well as the Animal Inn and Mack Rhino series. They have two kids, a mouse-catching dog, and a dog food-eating cat. They all live in Massachusetts. Paul and Jennifer are represented by the Jean V. Naggar Literary Agency.
